The goggles were subsequently removed from service and decommissioned. Fortunately the US military is incredibly lazy about how they decommission things they never truly destroy anything but instead recycle as many parts as possible including them in other seemingly unrelated technologies. These sets have been recommissioned and the anomalous properties restored. Remember well that these are very old although we strive to use as many OEM parts as possible, the anomalous properties take first priority. When OEM parts are not available modern alternatives may be used to restore functionality. Please note: The anomalous properties require a specific set of conditions to be met. The inner lenses must be on the red setting and the visor must be down. The effects are highly dependent on ambient lighting conditions and time exposure. Generally low visibility twilight conditions are when the effects are most intense. The effects are time and location dependent if you’re in a spooky situation to begin with these will greatly amplify the experience. Caution: The effects are cumulative and very difficult to cope with. These are positively awful, like something straight out of the necronomicon. These have a weird memory effect, what you don’t see may very well be able to see you, and they are more than capable of entering your dreams.
