This artifact is quite a fun thing! On their own these are not anomalous in any way they’re called diffraction glasses or sometimes fireworks glasses. As a research tool these have proven through experience to be highly effective for counteracting psychological distress brought on by close contact with more dangerous artifacts.

May have amplifying effects with nootropics and recreational mimetic compounds especially ones with an indole ring structure.
